The hard conversations

Children have an incredible habit of asking the biggest questions at the most ordinary times - halfway through dinner, in the supermarket or five minutes before bed.

Death, bodies, money, war, babies, why people look different, why someone was mean to them… the things we know matter but don’t always know how to explain when a small person is standing there waiting for an answer.

This is a collection for those moments, with honest, age-appropriate ways to talk about complicated things without making them scary, shameful or bigger than they need to be.

Because when children bring us the big questions, we want them to know they can keep bringing them.
